The ultra cast is a better casting reel than the other 2 listed. The ultra cast is being discontiunied. For the money they are a better reel.
I have and Ultra Cast, C3, and C4 and will buy only C4's from now on. I can't notice a huge difference between them, but the C4 is about as smooth as the UC, but I like the handle on the C4 better - its a paddle rather than the little round things. Maybe a silly reason to like a reel, but after using them all that's my $.02.

How about the Eon?? Anyone tried these yet?? Are they worth the extra dollars compared to the C3 or C4. I get a long just fine with these reels so is there any compelling reason to move up to the next level??

I have an Eon and it seems to be a fine reel. However, I can't say it is really any "better" than, for example, a C3. From the first Ambassadeur I bought years ago to the present, I've been well satisfied with Abu.
I believe the Ambassadeurs, especially the new ones, are the finest reels made in the world. The higher priced models simply get you more ball bearings and tighter machining tolerances, which enhance all aspects of performance. You can't go wrong with a C3 or C4... but if you do a lot of casting, flipping and pitching, as opposed to just trolling, you'll notice the difference in the higher priced reels like the Ultra Cast. They're "Like Buttah"
