Fella's I'm getting tired of having the standard tail lights on my shorelander go bad. rusty sockets and all. Think I will pick up some of the led tail lights and change them out.Are there good and bad brands and types of led lights ? Any trouble with led ?

Same here for Cabela’s. Once I went to LED, I have not changed a single one. That was two seasons ago. I was usually changing a couple of running lights and a taillight some time each season. Don't expect to get away totally from corrosion ...the splices (tail lights) and push on's (running lights) will need a good coating of rust inhibitor or liquid tape. Aside from that, I do not unplug my lights anymore when I load/unload. Enjoy…

Go with the LED's. We've got over 100 vehicles in our fleet and all have LED on the rear, sides and top markers. We never replace light bulbs or sockets anymore.

Been using LEDs on one side all year and they work great. I'll be changing the other side when I have time.

Got mine at Autozone.

Good luck,

Of course the question that pops into my head is "Why doesn't Shoreland'r put LED tail lights on in the first place?"

I guess it just makes too much sense. I plan to replace my tail lights too. I go through new bulbs like popcorn, regardless if I unplug the lights before launching or not.

New standard for tractor-trailer manufaturers are the LED lights. 5x brighter than standard 12v bulbs & 50x the life expectancy. More resilient to impacts than standard lights also. Pricey when replacement is necessary though, but worth the switch.

Too expensive for OEM installation, that's what after-market is for.

I bought the set from BPS. About $36 + shipping. I also launch in sallt water, and the lights are working great 9 months later. Bought the side marker lights separate. do not come in the kit from BPS. I think Wal-mart carrys them.
