I would like to know more too...I was at the weigh in but only heard bits and pieces of what happend.
One of the boats took on a lot of water, and another lost it's big motor. Those teams were rescued.
The lake went from calm to 6 footers in about 10 minutes...if that. The teams were trying to get back in on time, and from what I witnessed, many of them were really putting those rigs to the test. I guess that will happen when an operator pushes the limits.
A lot of them didn't make it in on time, and lost either 1/2 their weight, or all of it. The wind was never forcasted. Who knew? It was rockin' and rollin' out there big time!
There were some very good weights brought in today. I see the live leaderboard is not up to date yet. When I left the weigh in Carl Gruenwaldt and his partner were in the lead with 44+ pounds.
Anyone know the finals?

The boat that swamped took on water after their main engine quit near Pensaukee. The wind turned them sideways and swamped the boat. They were rescued by another competitor who heard they distress call on the marine band.
The engine of the other boat broke off at the mounts and is now home to another colony of zebra mussels.

wish i had fished this tourney, caught about 18lbs of fish in front of about 30 tournament boats. I was just fishing for fun. If anyone found a garmin 12 floating please let me know, you can have the waypoints, there are some great ones. dropped it after my fourth fish, only caught 1 more six pounder after that. really sucks not having gps, couldn't find same spot. I never wrote down my old waypoints on a hard copy, won't make that mistake again. if anyone found it please call me at 715-355-5677.
Thanks,
Brett Jolly

Both Mark and I heard that someone found it, but we do not have a name. We have continued to check with anglers that fished, as yet we have not come up with a name. We will continue talking to anglers and if we get a name will forward it to you. Sorry we could not be more help.
i know both of the teams you are talking about. the one that lost his moter and the one who picked up the 2 people that were stranded. the 2 that went back to help out the boat that broke down are named dale jessogone and tom schlief. if you see them at a mwc. tourney. tell them they did a great job. there boat no. is 7. also they did a great job at oconto. just wish i could have caught more fish.
