Does anyone know where you can buy 12 volt clear rope lights? I can find the 120 volt at just about every store, but not 12 volt. I want to run them in the bow of my boat. I prefer not to order them online.
Thank You!

Try some RV supply sites and get a brand or something
they have "neon" string lights by the car section of our walmart. I'd like to know how it works.

Hi;
I am working with a manufacture of lights at this time to accomplish the same goal for my Tundra 21,I sat in the dark 2 hours last weekend waiting for the tournament to begin once it was daylight,The ability to work on my rigging would have been a great way to spend the time,flashlights are a pain.I will let you know what is available.

Check out WWW.Northwood-Marine.com they have what you need and have a toll free phone number to order if yo don't like doing it on line. A buddy of mine told me of a guy who outlined the inside of his boat with red rope lights for night fishing. Reminded me of when I was in the navy they use red lighting at night. Sounds like a great Idea..

Finaddict has a good recommendation, and the other place that I know of is Platinum Lighting at Platinumsales.com, or call them at (702) 838-3637, or for orders only (877) 319-0241. We bought some clear rope lights to put in our travel trailer from them. They carry the true 12v version where you don't run a transformer. Just splice the two wires into your 12v hot and ground loop. Good luck!

I looked at your suggested WEB site. Pretty informative
I took note of this information:
6. A 30 ft. strand of 12 volt rope lights draws approx. 11 amps and produces approx 180 watts of light
I was wondering if RED was going to give enough light. 180 WAtts
is aton of light. 3- 60 watt light bulbs
I figured with mt 17 foot boat I would put 2-15 foot sections on either side & that would be my light.
Seeing the current draw, now I'm really wondering.
Any one else have any suggestions or real life comments?
I bought mine at A "Boaters World" Marine Store I have seen them at a few other stores including Wal Mart auto section and a few Larger Auto Part Stores... I have Clear but you guys are right they are harder to find in clear I have them installed on My Lund Pro Sport... I ran a strand from Inside the Glove Box, all the way around and tucked neatly under the front Gunnels with a switch on the dash... They Work Great, Not extremely bright but safely lights up the front deck area.
Cabela's in Dunde. Last week.
