Pros? Cons? Does anyone out there have this unit?

I've had this unit for almost a year. It's great. I love the sensitivity, it's ease of use; my best fishfinder to date. This was my first Humminbird, and so far, I'm very impressed with it. I've read on another thread that Reed's in Walker, MN has them on sale at $199. At this price range, I think you'll be hard pressed to find a better unit. Hope this helps.

The Hummingbird Legend series is getting a little old. Still, they are excellent units. The Legend 3000 was origionally the Zercom LPG 2000 and was considered among the best fishfinders available when it came out. The 3000 should be an excellent unit for you if you get it for a good price. The $199.00 price mentioned above would be excellent. Once you go over about $275.00 there are other, newer options out there that would probably be better though. Look around though and you may find an even better price for this unit.

I have both the LPG 2000 and the Legend 3000. The 2000's on the front and 3000's on the back. 30 readings per second - always. Each has the performance of a flasher with added screen memory. I had no issues in getting rid of my x15mt to buy the Legend. Best "performance" graph on the market in my opinion.

The transducer design has a bit to be desired, however. It is very difficult to tune it for high speed readings.

Paid 400+ for each... A steal at under 300.

All good comments. I have a Zercom 2000 (same unit). Has run perfectly for me (2.25 seasons). Absolute steal for $200 at Reeds.
