Alright guys, we are only a month out, who is coming? I have had about 20 people say they may attend? Lets try to get a firm count this week! So far Eyeboy is the only one who has asked to be put on the need a boat space list?

Gentlemen;
I should roll in thursday night between 9:00, and 10:00pm. I will also tent camp with the others at the camp ground, and I still need a walleye ride. Would it be best to bring live bait, or purchase it there? What do your vehicles look like; so that I don't fall in with the wrong crowd, so to speak.};-)
My ride is a 97 blue, 2500, Dodge V10, with Montana plates, of course. If there is anything else that might be good info for me, please post.
Thanks

Is Crash going to bow out again this year? Sure havn't seen any posts from him lately
Neal/Co

I haven't heard or seen from Crash for ahile now.
I will be there early Friday morning. I have a Emerald blue 2001 Z-71 SIlverado. Dave kooser will also be arriving then and he drives a white Ford F-250.
I am expecting somewhere from 25-35 people I still can't get an accurate count?

I have an F250 Super Duty Crew Cab, white, white topper, lift kit, 35's, K&N, Xenon Flares, remote start, AirLift in the rear.....ooppps, probably too much detail. Eric/Co, Neal/Co and I should be there Friday am. Have not really hammered all the details out with those guys buy I expect to leave Colo. Spgs. about 4 or 5 am and pick those guys up in Denver about 6am. Should be at Glendo about 10 or 11am Friday.
You can bring crawlers and leeches but the state will not allow you to bring your own minnows. Minnows can be purchased at the bait shop in the town of Glendo or at the Marina.

I drive a Tan/White Ford Explorer and will be towing a Green/White Starcraft.
If Neal doesn't ride with Gunga Din then, I have a seat in my boat with your name on it if you like.
I think there will be more boats than people, so don't worry about that.

Are you giving a description of your truck or trying to sell it? LoL.
6 AM is fine with me, just name the place?

I think we should meet at the North side of town at least north of Boulder Turnpike to miss the rush hour traffic.
Dave are you going to put a 2" ball on your Evinrude and just pull my boat up too?

Me and the wife will be there with an old yellow lab.
I still don't have a boat yet... dang OMC killed me this year.
I did finally sell the one I had so now I'm totally boatless.
Had to put a Merc on it to get it sold.
So, needless to say, we'll be thumbing for a ride.
Have tackle, will travel.

Just a broadcast thought, but would Walleye Central be willing to trade some free advertising for letting the king of Walleye Central use a boat for the weekend on Glendo?? Any Ft. Collins or Cheyenne boat shop owners reading this post and have a boat for Scott and wife???
Assumes WC is willing to make the trade.

Dave;
If not that, T-Mac should bring down one of dem der Ranger boats, for Scott to wring out. With Yammy power of course. From the looks of things, the fun meter should be in the red zone, for at least two days. Later.

For whatever it's worth, I just came back from Glendo yesterday. The water is down about 10' from 4 weeks ago. The main boat ramp at Whiskey Gulch is no longer usuable. I suspect another 3 weeks it will make the north end unfishable. Also be careful close to any points. There is one across from Muddy Bay that is only 3' deep about 100 yds. out into the main channel.

How far is the nearest usable ramp from Whiskey Gulch? Does the low water keep the PWCs and skiers off?
Neal/CO
07-23-2001, 08:35 AM
We will just have to use the ramps that are closer to the main body of the lake. The Whisky Gulch ramp is in the back of a large cove, in shallow water.

Neal--what time of year was the Glendo-fest last year when that big snow storm blew through?
Neal/CO
07-23-2001, 10:57 AM
It was the first weekend of October. The water was so low that a good portion of the northern canyon and Muddy bay didn't even exist!

Eric and Neal,
Just went through Denver today. The spot I think we should meet is the pulloff at Northbound I-25 mile marker 225. Just after the barn on the right side of the highway. See you there about 6am. I am not bringing my usual fishing friends with me so that I can take on another (or two) WC "poster/owner". I hear we might be fishing the weeds for the eyes as the water level is expected to be pretty low. Glendo will still be fishable though and you guys know the eyes are always willing to bite there.
Side note - I will bring all the fixin's for frying up walleye, (pot, oil, propane, breading, etc). If anyone feels like pitching in with help (filleting eyes) or food (side dishes) feel free.

Dkooser, I also have a propane cooker. Maybe we should have some beer batter onion rings with our fish. . .

I'll be happy to supply my fillet knife and arm since, with my luck and skill, I might not be supplying any walleye. I hope the Glendo eyes are as "biteable" as you suggest. Can you get Glendo fishing maps down here (i.e., Fort Collins)? Also, where do we pick up Wyo licenses conveniently on the way up there?
Thanks, Steve

I bought a topo map of Glendo last year at Uncle milty's here in Denver.
Howards in Glendo sells licenses.

Most tackle shops carry "Fish 'n Map Co." maps and there is suppoed to be one of Glendo. I don't know how great they are but my Aurora and Pueblo maps have been in valuable. The biggest thing is to compare the depth the map was made at and the real depth of the resivior. The Gart Bros. shops in Denver carry the maps but so do most map shops so you should be able to find one somewhere in Ft. Collins.

Steve,
The bite is usually pretty good at Glendo. At a minimum we should be able to catch enough to have a fish fry. As far as licences go, the bait shop (Curlys) across from Howards is the best place to go. He is real interested in maintaining his customer base and seems to hand out fishing info when he has it.
