I am considering driving about 200 miles to take a look at one. I checked the Alumacraft web site to get an idea of what one looks like.
Does anyone know how much the boat has changed from 1999 to 2004?
It has a 115 Merc 2 stroke. Shorelander bunk trailer.
Everything I have read about alumacraft in archives has been positive.
Any advice as to what to look for or experience you have had with this model?
THanks from a guy looking for his first nice boat.

Not many changes since 99 the exterior has new graphics, the interior changes that I can think of are on the 04 it has jump seats in the back and no baitwell like the 99 has, and the dash and gauges are a little different. Other than a few minor diiferences they are real close. I had a 2000 and really liked the boat.

Take a close look at the entire windshield assembly. Look for separation between the glass and the frame. Swing the center part over and make sure everything lines up right without any slop.
Inspect the paint for chips and imbedded particles such as dust and aluminum. (Take a soft rag and slide it over much of the painted area and feel for snags.)
Inspect as many of the rivets as possible. Also look for any “Oil Canning” in the sides and bow area.
Take a close look at the storage. Make sure you can live with nearly zero rod storage.
Make sure the hydraulic steering is smooth and unrestricted in both directions.
That boat should have a bimini top and 4 seats.
Make sure the floor is not saggy with loose or missing rivets.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I won't be going - there seems to be some 'confusion' as to what the selling conditions are going to be.
