A while back there was a post about a sort of rubber boot to put on the transom when clamping on a kicker motor. I am getting a new boat in spring and dont want those rings and indentations on my new boat transom from clamping on the kicker motor. My question what is it called so I can start looking for one?

I seen it in Cabelas, I forget the name but it looks like a good idea to me. I was going to use it for the kicker. On my vantage electric I used a piece of stainless steel on the outside of the boat. It looked very nice.

I've seen those in Cabelas as well. I thought the price was a little high for a piece of rubber, so I went to the local Wal-Mart, and bought a rubber car floor mat for $4, cut out two pieces of it in the desired shape, and made a double layered one for 1/5 of the price, plus, had a big enuff piece leftover to make a couple more.
