I need a unit for my bow. I see the specs on the fishmark 320, and it is comparable w/ higher priced parent co. lowrance.
Any one have any feedback on this unit? Keep in mind, It will be used only on the bow.
Thanks,
Ralph

I've got one on the back of my tiller boat and I think it's a great unit and a super buy. I've got a Lowrance X-85 on the bow which I will often run simultaneously with the 320, and there's no question, the 320 has superior detail--plus it was about $250 cheaper than the X-85.
HOWEVER, the only drawback with the 320 is that the transducer and power cables are tied together in the same plug-in. That's fine for the transom or console unit, but if you frequently remove your front trolling motor like I do, the power cable/transducer cable is always tied to the trolling motor, making it practically impossible to get the trolling motor away from the boat. I'm sure a guy could rig up something to overcome this, but that is what's preventing me from running another Fishmark 320 up front.
Other than that, I think it's a great unit for the money.

I got to see one in action a couple weeks ago. It impressed me so much that I bought one and put it up in the closet to use as a back up if I have trouble with one of my other units. I will be running the new Eagle 480 on the console and an x-19c on the bow this year. The 320 was on sale for 169 at cabela's. It is an amazing price for the quality of the unit. The unit I saw was being run on the console with an X-85 on the bow. The person who bought the 320 was heading back to get another for his bow. I would not say that it out did the 85 but it was a much crisper detail. The 85 was 2 years old so i can't say if that was why the 320 was clearer. In reverse the 85 did not outdo the 320 either. Both units put us on fish and we caught them.

Hale Damage, I'm 45 minutes west of KC, did they have any of the new lowrance units at Cabela's?
I've used it for the last fishing season and have no complaints. Well worth the money.

Thanks for the input, I'm sold. I had an Eagle Ultra II for about 8 years and the thing worked like a clock. It wasn't the best in terms of power or detail, but no problems. BTW, my X-15 lost is transmitter after about one year. I will be sending it in to Lowrance with a nasty letter.
Thanks again,
Ralph
