I would like some " How to do it" for hooking my 98 Mariner kicker up to a seperate throttle control and shifter. Presently it is a tiller model and I would like to be able to work it from my chair-having back surgery today so mobility may or may not change for the future. I picked up a Mariner shifter on ebay last week that should be ok for the job. I do not have cables yet. I run a 18'5 DC Fisher with a 115. The kicker is mounted behing the driver-is this proper? It seems due to the two motors makeup that it would be better on the opposite side? Any help is appreciated.

With a tiller, there is better clearance for the handle when mounted on driver's side. However, when going to a remote controlled kicker, the clearance for the cables is better when the kicker is mounted on the passenger side.
