Check the bow height vs that of a ProSport 1675 or 1700. If they're similar, I'd recommend the 60" shaft. I bought the 54" shaft and it cavitates in 2 - 3' whitecaps.

If you went with the 55lb thrust 54" 12volt you would be happy with it, I have ran this rig for years on 1890 Pro V and very seldom wished I had gone 24volt 65lb thrust, You boat is smaller and lighter so should be plenty off power, if you need to pinch penny's go done in power but not in shaft lenght ALWAYS get the longest (motor) shaft you can get for the motor.

There is no such thing as TOO LONG a shaft on a bowmount. I would suggest 24 volt....in the 55-74lb range. I like the Maxxum's.

I have a Lund Pro Angler 16 (16'6" and 88" beam) and I just bought the 55#AP Minn Kota with the 54" shaft, Cabelas has a tournament version 55#AP with a 60" shaft otherwise you have to move up to a 65# and 24 volts. I have a transom mount motor and did not want to go 24 volts. If Cabelas didn't have re-conditioned 55#AP so inexpensive I would have bought the 60" shaft, new. But after measuring (according to Minn Kota site) and talking to people on this site I felt that the 54" would work and I saved $160 on the re-conditioned motor. Use the savings to buy the co-pilot option.
So longer is better but the 54" should work fine on my boat.

I have the Explorer SS 1650 with 50hp Honda on the rear. I have a 54" Minnkota 55lb thrust. Only on rare occassions have I wished for a longer shaft and some would say that's once too often. Anyway it suits me fine however my wife thinks the shaft should be longer. JT

Remember the most important part of the bow mount - the BATTERY(s), if your a die-hard bottom bouncer or rig fisherman, then make sure you have the capacity to run all day into the wind.
