View Full Version : Why do I always have to "Login"?
Before the server switch WC would keep me logged in, however, I now have to go through the "login" procedure every time I visit. Is this happening to others as well or is it just my stellar computer skills? Honestly it's not that big of a deal, but I liked it better when WC would keep me logged in. Any ideas?
Best Regards,

FJH1,
A lot of us were having that same problem just after the server cut. Scott had to do something and I have been working since. Drop a note to him or the "monitor". They'll get ya fix'd up!

Thanks, I was on vacation for a couple of weeks and must have missed the discussion.

I also notice that when I pick a topic all of the threads may not come up the first time and I have to hit screen refresh quite often to show all responses/threads.

Suzuki,
Unfortunately, or fortunately, that is the nature of this beast. There is an "editable" delay built into the system (like a tape delay in broadcast TV and radio). It's the way it is. You're NOT alone.

I had many problems immediately following the move to the new server. My old user ID, Dennis/UT, must have gotten corrupted somehow. So I created a new user ID, Dennis-UT, and it works fine. Ask the admin to delete your user ID so you can recreate it, or just pick a new one. Also, delete your WalleyeCentral cookie so that a new one will be created. In fact, try that first.

That's cool. I can handle that. Thanks.

Are you checking the box that "remembers" your login?
As for the refresh, that is a funtion of your PC and its refresh rate, not the server at WC.

Per the advise I received, I cleaned out my WC "cookie" and now everything is working properly - Thanks!

AquaMan,
I had that question nearly two years ago and I think it was Zach that told me of the delay after I fired off an e-mail to the monitors. I thought there was something wrong with my 'puter at the time. Of course, all could have changed by now. ???

Hoe do I clean out my WC "cookie?
Can I eat it when I'm done ;-)
Seriously, how is it done?
LAST EDITED ON Jul-19-01 AT 11:30AM (CST)[p]On my computer I go through the following sequence:
Double click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop.
Double click on the "( C: )" Drive icon.
Double click on the "Windows" icon.
Click on "Show Files".
Double click on the "Temporary Internet Files" icon.
Click on "Edit" on the toolbar.
Click on "Select All".
Click on "File" on the toolbar.
Click on "Delete".
It will say it will then ask you if you want to delete selected cookies. In my case I said yes, actually I deleted everything in the Temp Internet File. As far as I know it does absolutely no harm.

I'm as dense as they come when tech stuff is discussed....
but..........
I don't log-in to Walleye Central...ever. I hit "favorites" or "bookmark" when on the WC page and added it to my list of places I want to visit often.
Once I'm on the internet I just go to "My Favorites" or "My Bookmarks" and I hit "Walleye Central." It comes up instantly.
