If this has already been posted, please disregard.
Has anyone noticed in the Lund 2004 catalog, the photo on page 22, of the 1900 Pro-V? According to Lund specs, it is rated for a 200 HP motor. In the photo, the boat has a 225 HP Merc on it. It is certainly odd that Lund (or whoever does their rigging) would install a 225 on a boat with a 200 maximum rating. Just an observation!

I believe the rating was bumped up to 225 for the 1900 in '04 but was done too late to change the specs in the catalog. T-Mac....is that right or is my weather beaten memory doing it to me again?lol

Want a few more? Bought an 1800 Explorer SS and found a few interesting things different then the catalog. Like:

Per p. 50, SS version is rated at 140 HP. I look at the manufacturers plate on the boat, it's rated at 150 HP. Look on p.65 of the catalog, sure enough, rated at 150HP. If I had read p.65 before I had bought the boat, there would be a Yamaha F150 on the back, not an F115. A bummer.

Per p. 50, the SS version has dual lighted aerated livewells. Look on p. 65 of the catalog, it shows only a single aerated livewell. What do I really have? Dual, lighted, and timed aerated livewells. A bonus.

Look on p.66, the lower right hand corner and that's their way out for having discrepancies in their specifications.

It just would be nice if the front end of the catalog and the back end of the catalog said the same thing.

Marketing and Production seem to not be on the same page. Thats dissapointing. :-(

Guys--

As one who has worked on tons of catalogs, I can tell you it's not always easy to be be 100% perfect. That's why there's almost always a disclaimer stating that "changes may occur."

You should always check with the dealer or the company if there's any question at all. Plus, give 'em a break. They're only human.

Cheers, Trout

The problem where I am is that the dealers cannot afford to have all models sitting on the showroom floor. As a result, I have to rely on the catalog to provide the information I need to make a rational (ok, buying a boat is not rational) decision regarding make and model. Had the same thing happen with a car recently. Wrote in the purchase agreement that vehicle would not be accepted if not as specified.

HUH??????????
I understand you might start looking based on the catalog, but would you really try to spec out and order a boat without talking to the dealer????? That is what they are there for - to help you along in your decision making process. If they haven't in the past, then you need to find a different dealer in a hurry.

I've ordered a truck without talking to a dealer, but no way on a boat. Even the high production boats still have some room for customization.

Good Luck,

Steve

The 1900 Pro-Vs built after (approximately) Sept. 15 were re-rated to 225. In a nut shell, we dealers have some 1900's that are rated at 200 and some rated at 225 in stock, now. The work for the catalog (copy and photos) has to be done quite far in advance. The catalog people do make errors and misprints, as well.
It is a big task getting a brochure completed. There are mistakes in almost all printed matter. For that reason, a disclaimer must be printed on the brochures.

Do you know if the ones rated at 200 can be "re-rated" after the fact to 225? I am just curious, that's all, I am not buying one. Did anything structural change between the two models? I always wondered about things like that, as I have seen it happen on other manufactures and models as well.

Thanks for any info. My dream boat is still the 2025, simply for all the roooooooooom in it :)

Some added transom braces (below splashwell pan) is my understanding.
I don't know about re-fits? (Doubt it would be easily done).

It was my understanding from Scott at Lund that if the boat had Hydraulic steering they would send a rerate plate for 225.Ill let you know, because weve got one and was told it could be done.

T-Mac, Do you know how fast a 225 will push that 1900?

Is there any place of the web to order a LUND catalog? I could find a catalog request option on their website (I been called half-blind before).

Call them and ask for one or contact your nearest dealer and get one.

freebryd: I just this morning got a e-mail from a dealer that I have been talking to about a 1900 prov. I had requested either a 225 4 stroke or 225 hpdi. Was told that they were only rated for 200hp.

We haven't had one out on the water yet (due to the ice). So, I can't give you an honest answer. Just from being around this stuff all the time....I can't imagine the gain would be very great over the 200 four stroke on same boat.

I ordered the 2004 1900 Pro-V. Thanks to comments on this site, I discovered that it had been rerated for a 225 (my dealer was not aware of that, but he did confirm it). The boat arrived at the dealership last week. We checked the plate and it does say that it is rated for the 225. I don't know where the confusion started, but I am happy to get the extra hp on a great boat. Dan

I just looked at a LUND 1900 Pro-V and the plate on it said max HP 225. You know more than the dealer. I asked two salemen and they both said max was 200hp so I showed them the plate.
I orded a Crestliner 192 with 200hp, everyone said it still rated for max 200hp. how long will it take them to fallow LUND

Personally I'd get a lawyer and sue them,or insist on a free boat as they are clearly falsely representing their product!
