I tried a technique last weekend while trolling that really worked well, and was wondering if anyone else has tried this. While we were trolling some worm harnesses, I went up on the bow of my boat and began casting a weight forward out to the side of the boat as far as I could cast. I caught some nice fish doing this. I used a 5 count on the retreive, and had most strikes come as the lure made the whip. I was thrilled with the results. I just wondered if anyone else has tried this. Good fishing

It's a common method on Lake Erie for drifters and trollers called "fishing the swing" I believe with a 5/8 oz weight the bait drops about 1 foot per second, cast 90 degrees to the side of the boat, count your depth, a slow retrieve and a pump and drop every now and then and most times the strike will come as the line swings around the back corner of your boat, the first time I tried this I boated 3 Eyes in 4 casts on an erie dearie, must have been beginners luck.
