The Ford Powerstroke 7.3L will be replaced by a new 6.0L Powestroke in a few years, according to the following web site:

chevy is coming out with a new diesel for 2001 it is called the duramax diesel it has 300 horspower and 52ft lbs of torque it is availabel with a 6 speed manual or a 5 speed allison automatic it is a great package we have one in a medium duty school bus and the poweer is awsome the ford and dodge era of diesel trucks is over check it out at http://www.thedieselpage.com Captain Dan Kelly

Dan, you should not have posted that info! Now I want a new 3/4 ton deisel with the Duramax engine! I like the new front end too! Cummins powered trucks are in trouble! Chris

Well, captain, chevy needed to come up with a new engine. Ford is changing their engine as well. Both are supposed to be new and improved. Meanwhile, the CUMMINS turbodiesel in Dodge trucks remains unchanged and is still the King of economy, efficiency and reliability.

This one ought to stir the pot a little!!!

I heard that Isuzu is making the new motor for Chevy and it will run circles around the Cummings. Anyone else here this?
