Hello,
My family and I are going camping/fishing on Saganaga L. the last week of July / 1st week of August. Just wondering if anyone would have some helpful tips on what areas of the Lake to fish, fishing methods, etc etc. Kevin M. anwered my e-mail and was very helpful on how to fish the Walleyes but wouldn't give up specific areas to fish. TIA.

Canoe or small boat? Your aware of the 25hp max motor size of course?

Canoe - Morning and Evening, any wind swept shoreline, point, island.

Boat - Deep during the day. Jigging spoons/minnow heads on reefs that top out at 40 to 50 feet.

I have been there too many times to count, and actually I will be there the same time you are.

Look for the walleyes on and around the deeper humps (15-40 feet).

If you do not have a RABC-remote area border crossing permit, you can not go into Canadian waters. This lake as a lot of mounties regulating it. If you are fishing on the Canadian side, you can only bring nightcrawlers across the border.

Good luck....

I hear they are catching big ones on reef tops with Lazy Ikes tipped with crawlers/leeches. Don't forget to use your worm blower!

John, I was out last night and caught my limit on a plain #6 Kahle hook with two kernels of "Fresh Like" whole kernal corn.

Zip,
Your methods seem a little suspect but I've heard you're the best. Do I hook the kernal at the cob end or do the 'eyes' prefer a different presentation? Thanks a million!!!!

You'll want to lightly hook the kernel through the skin on either flat side. Two kernels hooked this way gives the corn an action the "eyes" can't resist.

Zip Lure,
I can't believe the line of crap you've been giving John. 'Bird's Eye' corn is much better than 'Fresh Like'.

Lima beans are actually better than any kind of corn you can buy. I never go to Canada without it.
