I have a couple of rivets leaking on my boat. I put in a flat floor and do not want to take it out this year. What is the best thing to put around these rivets to get another year leak free? I've used silicone on anther boat but it wore off after a few trips.
I know the proper solution is to take the floor out and tighten or re-do the rivets, but i don't want to do it this years.

Thanks

Just to give you an additional alternative, if you would want to access the rivits from the inside as part of the repair process, you might not need to remove the floor. You could merely cut a hole sized for an access panel or deck plate, then, once you've completed your repair of the rivits, install the access panel or deck plate on the floor. Here's a link for an example of a deck plate.

Many fiberglass saltwater fishing boats have these on the floor. My Proline did, and my Hydra-Sports does. When you install an access panel or deck plate on a wood floor, be sure to bed the mounting screws (stainless of course) in a good quality sealant. I coat the inner surface of the hole that I cut as well. Again, just another option that could save you from having to remove the floor.

Try some aluma weld epoxy over the leaking rivets it will dry harder then the hull you can sand it off when you get around to replacing the rivets.
