Lowrance on a Ranger

I recently installed a Lowrance X16 on my Ranger 619. The Lowrance and GPS work great the problem is I am getting static on my FM radio when I have the Lowrance on. I installed the puck in front of the drivers windshield near the lowrance unit. The FM radio is located in the drivers side dash. I have tried running wires directly to the battery for both the radio and the Lowrance unit but, no help. The more I turn the brightness of the screen down on the lowrance unit down the worse the static gets. Has anyone else had these problems or can anyone give me any help??

Sounds like a RF filter may help, best place to find one is Radio Shack. Just explain the type of interference and they should be able to come up with a filter for you...lotsa choices for many applications.
