Lead Core Line

I've never used lead core line. What pound test do you recommend for Walleye/Lake Trout? Do they all sink at the same rate; or is lighter or heavier better. How many yards are necessary? THANKS.

From everyone I have taked to, most use 18lb. The lb test has nothing to do with the amount of lead. Actually, some think once you get over the 18lb it will actually sink slower with the extra line diameter and resistance. Like I said the amount of lead is the same in all tests.
