Looking for guide

I will be in the Deer River, MN area and I'm looking into hiring a guide. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences to relate to me about the Northern MN League of Guides who operate in this area. I probably will be fishing Leech Lake, and or Lake Winnibigoshish. Would appreciate some feedback, I've heard good and bad.

Hi, I you are going to fish lake Winnibigoshish I would suggest Joe Thompson of Four Seasons resort. He will put you on walleyes. He runs the resort and the only lake he fishes is Winni, so he knows where the fish are.

If you can book a trip with Tom Neustrom, do it. There's not a better angler (or sheriff) out there.

COntact me if you have not hired a guide yet. I grew up on the lake and guide for walleye, muskie and pike. Fishing for eye's has been really great and the big fish are starting to move.
you can reach me at www.fishingmn.com/terry

I would check out the Griz at www.fishwithgriz.com. He has fished Winni for years and when you hire him you get your moneys worth. He will take you out a 8:00p and bring you in around dark. You can hear him on AM KSTP 1500 on Bear facts and fish tales at 8:20p every Sunday.

While on the subject, does anyone know of top-notch guides for fishing Rainy Lake? Sorry to switch areas, but with a lake that big, being able to get on fish quickly would help make for a great vacation. (U.S. side of Rainy) Thanks for the help!!! Mickey
