Got out on one of my favorite lakes last week and wound up coming back in without any action whatsoever. Lake was a lovely kelly green!!!!! Guy in charge of the launch told me not to feel bad because absolutely no one has caught anything but rock bass in the last week. Still I had the same problem last year and I'd like to find some ways around it. Not being able to raise even a bass or pickerel is rough on my ego. I've been told to go shallower roughly twelve feet(avoid the deep water) and give some serious jigging a try. Any suggestions other than that?
This is a two thousand acre lake with more veggies in it than a salad bar... at twelve feet, I'll be hitting some serious weeds.
I suppose I could just give it up for now and head to a different lake but you guys know how stubborn I can be :-)

If you really want walleyes I'd move to another body of water. My plan is always lets not beat a dead horse, do something differant or move. I'd hate getting off the water looking like you just had a visit to the cabbage patch with your now green boat. I would refuse to pitch one of those floating rat things for fear of catching a bass in that slime. For sure try someplace else for now and try it in the fall. Good luck.

Chuck hit it on the head, and with the oxygen levels being higher in shallow water as well as a higher temp, the walleye that are holding more than likely will holding temp thats cooler with less oxygen and more likely to be dormant. Look for weed edges and holes near deeper edges early and late and those fish are stressed.
