Does anyone know of a local (Minneapolis) zoomable doppler radar site?? All I have is the weather channels on AOL. You can't zoom on that one and all I get is the whole stae of Minn. I want to zoom into the 7 county metro area. It just came to me, maybe the local TV staitions have their web sits hooked up to their radar?? Any better places than that would be helpful!! Thanks!

Yeah...... the first place to look for the most up to date radar images is the local news stations. You can also try www.nws.noaa.gov and then click on the latest radar image Once you click on that, then a radar map of the u.s. will come up. then just click right on minneapolis. If you then put the radar in a loop or in motion, you can zoom right down to the county. You can also try www.intellicast.com.

Click on the radar location of your choice and you have quite a few options to choose from. Precip mode, short/long range radar, zoom, and you can also control the speed of the animation.

Put the radar into "loop", then you will get the zoom option. When you click on the zoom button, a small hand will replace your pointer and then you can select anywhere on the map for the center of the zoom. You can keep zooming over and over, but the resolution starts to get bad quickly.
Try www.wunderground.com and go to the doppler site. This seems to be the most up to date site for me.
Lets try that again. http://www.wunderground.com. and click nexrad stations. Chris

http://www.accuweather.com/adcbin/index Do a search for your area. Click on the radar tab. Then click on the metro tab. This should show you a close up of your area.

My wife is a graphic designer, I'm using her Mac G4 but everything is Mac. I can't get it to loop. I think I need Java whatever??? Can you guys help me out!
Hey Tom P.
Congratulations! You're using a great computer. You'll find Netscape to be more compatible than Explorer on a Mac, and yes, you have to get all the Java N Stuff.

I'm on AOL, netscape way too slow. I heard AOL is on fiber optics on alot of their lines now ( TIME WARNER) It's alot faster then you would think. Absoloutly no problems anymore , AOL got a bum rap early on, It's as good as it gets for none DSL or cable. I'm in Minneapolis and they have a direct fiber optic cable to Chicago to their main distribution hub.
