Purchased Garmin 100. Want to put it in the front of the boat (on the trolling motor). Found you need to purchase special tranducer for that purpose. Doing so you lose 6 degrees. Thinking about trying to mount the transom transducer that came with it on the trolling motor. Has anyone every done this?

Cabelas sells an adapter kit that will allow you to mount the transom mount transducer on your electric trolling motor. I don't have the catalog in front of me, but I don't believe it was very expensive (less than $15.00). Hope this helps.

I SIMPLY ADAPTED THE TRANSOM BRACKET TO FIT THE CURVE OF THE MOTOR HOUSING, MOUNTED WITH A LARGE HOSE CLAMP WITH INNER TUBE RUBBER BETWEEN THEM. WORKS GREAT. TAKE TIME TO ROUTE THE TRANSDUCER CABLE PROPERLY SO YOU DONT HAVE PROBLEMS WHEN TURNING OR BRINGING THE MOTOR UP AND DOWN. HOPE THIS HELPS AND GOOD LUCK.
