Several people have called asking questions about this tournament. TFM Promotions and myself are listed as working at this tournament. Wildlife Forever has decided they are going to handle this tournament completely. We are not involved with this tournament so any questions should go to Pete Wuebker at Wildlife Forever at 952-833-1522 or e-mail at puebker@wildlifeforever.

looks like they want to keep the entries at an all time low again.

i hope the mwc makes a statement soon,i know some guys made reservation there. i just wish would be more vocal on walleye central. they keep everything to quiet. for instance the 2002 scheudule,it should be out already, but it's not. also the championship no confirmed word from anybody. i know alot of mwcers that a fed up and they are thinking about parting there way with the mwc. it's been a good circuit but the past few years it didn't look good. i know pete is doing a ok job,but we need some answers now not in the fall. larry remember keep tossing them coins they work!!!

1. ERIE
I'm not sure what statement you want other than perhaps a confirmation that the Erie tournament will be held and it will be a fun event. On both accounts, it will be.
I'm working on some details that anglers asked about at the Green Bay tournament. Other than that, the site, the volunteers, everything is in place. I fly out there next week to have another meeting with all involved and will be arriving early the week of the tournament to direct preparations.
Erie was selected as many anglers had asked for new and bigger water. Geneva was selected because thats where the fish are during the time frame we had available.
Back when Maura was around, TFM was to be handling the implementation of the tournament. Back then it was expected we'd have at least 100 boats. It souldn't surprise anyone, TFM doesn't work for free. And they shouldn't. They do great work. But registration is lower than expected, and frankly, there just isn't enough money to cover all the costs plus hire an outside TD. Thus, Wildlife Forever will handle the implementation directly.
Frank has 15 years of putting on large tournaments. In addition to the year I spent with Kaz, I been involved in virtually every MWC tournament for the past two years. We know what needs to be done and I'm confident we can properly handle a 50 boat tournament.
An update letter will be going out to all registered teams this week.
2. CHAMPIONSHIP
At Oconto, I told the anglers we would have the final details out to them within two weeks. Those will go out before the week is over. I have a meeting on Wednesday and want to confirm a couple of things. Other than that, the schedule is done and sitting next to me on the desk.
Months ago, anglers received letters about the dates and asked them to get their lodging arrangements made.
3. QUIET
I have been quiet on here. Partly it's a function of the level of work. Do I spend my time responding to every post or do I concentrate on what has to be done.
It's also partly because this isn't a fun place to be. The post above is a good example of why. It's hard to keep the enthusiasm up with so many snide remarks. it's hard to get the job done when it seems you can't win. Is it any wonder that we've had a hard time keeping someone in this position? So it's better to avoid them, keep the spirits up and continue working hard.
Think about this for a second. After all of the complaints about the MWC why would anyone new to the tournament scene sign up for the MWC? You desktop tournament directors are all ready to bury the MWC, blame WF and blame Pete yet if you looked in the mirror you would see one of the problems. This is my fourth complete year, I see problems but I also see a curcuit covered with tradition. Can WF and Pete do a better job? I don't know, I have never ran a circuit, have you? Is there a learning curve, I think so.
It (MWC)is an event you can not compare to any other walleye team circuit in the country. It is the largest and longest running team circuit in the country. The USFA would love to have the turn out the MWC has. I fished a USFA division this year where the most boats we had at a tournament was nine. The championship had three. If you people are so worried about turn out try recruiting instead of discouraging others to join the MWC. A little positive input would go a lot further to increase
turn out than all of the junk that gets posted here.

jayw you haven't been fishing tournaments long enough to comment on them. i started fishing the mwc in 1988. i didn't say it was pete's fault or wf.but the mwc needs to work on alot of things to survive, more sponsors, better promoting, bigger payouts,etc.. i love the mwc and always will, and i hope it survives and i will spend alot time this winter promoting the circuit.so wait a few years before you make any comments talk to the guys that fished them all over the years listen to them they are the mwc....
Sorry - didn't realize you were the only authority out there. Please let me know when I am able to voice my opinion. Anyway why you are at it walleyechaser please explain to me, the unknowing, the unworthy, what you disagreed with in my post.
