Transom Mount Trolling Motor

Just orderd my Whitecap Splashguards for backtrolling with the boat and need to decide on which Minn Kota transom mount to get.

2002 Pro V IFS 1800

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have a Vantage now and love it. But if I were to buy a new transom mount, I think I would look at the Vecters.

I don't need the funky system that deploys the motor. It still has 3 to 1 steering and will turn around like the Vantage for back trolling, but half the cost.

The Vector caught my eye. That is where I am leaning.

Which one has the auto deploy, I don't want that?

The vantage has the auto deploy and it is the one that Minnkota has discontinued.

The one in current production is the new motor introduced this year called the vector.
The vector is similar to all of the other minnkota transom mounts, with respect to tip mounting, variable speed etc. But it has the 3-1 steering and a 1 button reverse motor flip setting.


The Vantage was a fine unit, but it was too expensive and it simply had too many problems with respect to the deploy system.
