I saw a PWT show a couple of months ago in which the pro had a flasher spoon tied to his spinner rig. My questions are:
What type and size of spoon?
Do you need any weight added as well?
I'm sure that you need a swivel in front and back of spoon, is there anything else in which I need to know?
Thanks for all the information.

Doc,
There was an article in the In-Fisherman walleye insider with PWT pro Mark Quizdala about how he uses this set-up on Saginaw Bay. I ran into Mark at the Bass Pro shop during the Detroit River PWT and asked him about the flasher spoon. He said to use a light bladed spoon and remove the hook. Then put ball bearing swivels on both ends attached by split rings. He uses 3" to 6" spoons for the most part. Hammered silver, nickel, copper, and brass finishes seem to be the most popular. We have been using them this summer on the Saginaw Bay and they are working very well. We were using bottom bouncers and attaching the spoon right to them. Just be sure to put your weight in front of the spoon. I've seen these used with inline sinkers and snap weights and they also seem to work well. Hope this helps with your question about flasher spoons. Good luck fishing.

I would simply use a small flasher rather than screw around trying to modify a spoon. They can be purchased anywhere that you would find salmon fishing gear.

Doc,
The spoons can be purchased seperately instead of buying one already made. Cabelas (at least the Dundee Michigan store) had some and the mail order catalogs of Netcraft and Worth tackle both carry spoon blades. I've also seen them at area tackle shops, but I also know that this is a popular method around here. Good luck.
