I am looking at a 1984 Lund 4.9 Tyee with twin 50 horse Mercury motors. I know that it isn't a brand new ranger, but I guy has to start somewhere. I was wondering if any of you had any experiences, thoughts or opinions to share on this set up. Is it tough on a transom to run twin motors? Also, is $3900 very reasonable?

Thanks for any input. I'm excited about getting closer to purchasing my very first boat.

mn student, this is a really neat rig! in 1986 i bought the 18' tyee with twin 50hp evenrudes. i fished it 10yrs and loved it.with aluminum props it popped on plane instantly, great boat control. i would use one or both motors idling in reverse on rough days to slow drift or hang on a spot. it felt like pinpoint boat control. it works best for each motor to have its own battery,in case of problems at least one would always start. don't know about the price thoughit maybe on high side for 20yr old boat, i'm really not sure. thats my thoughts, hope it helps good luck, mike
