I just bought a 2000 2090BT Warrior that came with a 2004 9.9 Merc 4 stroke kicker, but it was mounted on the starboard side instead of the port side. I'd like to put it on the port side, but the Pro-Tiller steering mechanism is in the way...

So my question is to anyone out there that is running a Pro-Tiller Warrior like mine with a kicker: How did you mount it? and How have you liked it? Any problems?

The guy I bought it from also through in a Vantage 74 that needed a new switch (which I got fixed already) and a Kicker mounting bracket (like the kind in Cabela's with the 5 different height positions for $249), but it looks like it would be very difficult to bolt it through the transom on the port side (because of the rear livewell being in the way). Any help would be appreciated. If I don't talk to someone that has it figured out I'm probably not going to put the 9.9 on the boat at all.

Why do you need a kicker? Thought thats why someone buys a tiller?

That's the conclusion I'm coming to, unless someone on this post tells me differently. I've never ran a kicker on my 1890BT, and don't think I need one on this rig either. It just came with that stuff and I need to figure out what to do with it. I might just put it up for sale. The kicker is a 2004 4 stroke merc which is still under warranty and the mounting bracket has never been used. Thanks for your opinion.

tillernut,

I believe I know the boat you bought, I assume it is the one with the 150 Opti. If so, congrats, you got a sweet rig and a great price!! Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks It is a really nice rig. I felt bad that the guy had to sell it due to his situation, but his loss is my gain. He is a really decent guy, that just fell on hard luck lately. The boat is a gem. I'm anxious for open water! Have a great walleye season.
