Just bought a used Clearwater Pro flasher by Zercom Marine. Got it from Woods and Water used so dont have all the books on it. There is 3 settings for suppresion, can someone tell me what that is? Any ratings on this unit also appreciated. Chose it over the Vexlar because i heard Vexlars didn't show up well in the sunlight. I wanted to mount on the bow, and didnt need for ice-fishing.
Thanks,
Kevin
For the sake of arguement, the CLEARWATER PRO is the best flasher made. The supression settings are for travelling. At speed, you need to set it on 2 or 3 to eliminate clutter and interference. For fishing, just leave it off... pkb

To quote the manual: "Suppression - A method used in some sonar units to eliminate interference or noise."

I've been considering trying to fin one of those units for hte bow of my boat. Did htey have another one, or does anybody have one for sale? Supposedly they run at 150kz. E-mail me if anybody's got one for sale.
I have a Fisher FX18DV and it came with a clearwater pro flasher at the helm. It also has temperature readouts. I cannot find a temp sensor in the bilge area anywhere. Ii heard someone say the temp sensors on some Clearwater units were incorporated into the transducer (epoxied to hull at factory) True or not?

Thanks for the answers!! Greg i would be interested in buying a manuel from your company as i did not get one with my used unit. Please e-mail me if ya have one and i will send you a S.A.S.E with a check. Yes Woods and Water had another one at the Burnsville location for $219.00 new.
Kevin
Yes they have two transducers available. One at 200 and one at 150.

Stan,
Yes, some of the transducers for the ClearWater Pro are incorporated into the transducer. Others have an external temperature probe that runs from the transducer, and some are built onto the rear of the transducer. If you are getting a temperature readout and cannot see an extra wire coming from the transducer, than it would be safe to assume (?!?!) the temperature probe is built into the transducer housing.

Grey Wolf and Chad,
There have been two different models manufactured; one is a 150KHz model, the other is a 200KHz model. Make sure you get the transducer that corresponds to the frequency of the unit you have or are getting!

I picked up a used Clearwater Pro this weekend. Felt I got a pretty good deal, it was in the original box, with the original sales receipt and all. Is there by chance an extension cord for hte transducer? I've got the 150 with about a 16' cord.

Go to their website which I believe is humminbird.com. You will be able find accessories there for your Zercom.
