Are the LAT/LON coordinates the same for these two navigation systems? I have old maps of Lake Erie with Loran coordinates and want to know if I can use them.

Yes. You just need to use the same format. The data is the same. The Lat/lon's didnt change.

Based on some further study I found some of my data which had both Loran and GPS coordinates had the Loran in degrees, minutes, and seconds whewre as the GPS has the seconds in hundredths verses sixtieths. I guess I will have to do the conversion.

Like said above Loran is usually in degrees, minutes, seconds. And GPS is usually in degrees, decmial degrees. The diffence is the decmial degrees. If you have a calculator with a DMS(degrees, minutes, seconds) and >DD(Decmial degrees) on it you can convert between the too very easy. You should be able to switch on the GPS to DMS if you don't feel like converting the two.
Good Luck and pray for a nice calm, slow warming Spring!!
