Looking to replace my batteries. I was looking at Cabela's Advanced Angler AGM and also Optima. Was wondering feedback on both and/or how they compare to each other. I have a 2003 Lund Pro-V 1800. I am sure the big Optima (D31M) will fit but not sure if the biggest Cabela's (group size 30) will fit.

Here is a chart with the standard dimensions for most batteries:

Crappiekid, thanks for the chart it will come in handy. The size is listed in Cabela's catalog but it might be a tight fit so I was wondering if anyone has actually stuffed those bid dudes in there.

If you search all the discussion forums for "netminder optima" you will see some info I posted on the D31M batteries. I have not had any problems yet. I have not used the cabela's batteries so I'm not able to give any advise on them.

Do you by chance run a 24 volt system? If so what is the thrust rating of your motor and how long do your batteries last during typical fishing conditions? I can figure about how they will last under maximum thrust conditions but I've never used an electric motor before.
Thanks

F4F,
I do run a 24-volt system on my 1900 Pro-V. I use 2 Optima D31M's to power my 65 pound thrust Minn Kota Power Drive (w/Co-pilot but no auto-pilot) and I can run all day on the Detroit River fighting a 7mph current using the trolling motor for positioning my lines vertical. I have also used them for an entire weekend of bass fishing on an inland lake without recharging. I also use a 3rd D31M for all starting (200hp Merc. EFI & 9.9FS kicker) and all electronics (so far so good). I only have one year on them so I can't say how long the lifespan will be, but if it's as advertised than I’ll be sticking with Optima.

If you want to save yourself some money and you live in the Minnesota area you can by AGM batteries at the Fleetfarm store. They run about $80 (if you have a spent one to trade). I have never run these even down past 50% and I use my trolling motor alot.
