Has anyone used any of these products? Are you getting what you pay for...not much? I know this is usally the case but thought I'd see if anyone thought different.
Thanks for your time!

I have two of the PWT ProCasting Combos and really like them. The rods are ok but the reels are smooth as silk. Makes me want to take up bass fishing again.
I paid $49.95 each Spring Fishing Catalog.

JASON.
The Pinnacle PWT spinning reels are the same reel as the Silstar, Vertex series reels.
I've been using the Silstar Vertex model VX 25 for three years now and they're one of the smoothest operating reels on the market for the money.
The drag system is one of the better ones I've used to date.
I use these reels primarily for ice fishing and they haven't missed a beat, even in the coldest or freezing conditions.
Right out of the box they never freeze up like most other major manufatureres reels.
Silstar discountinued this model in their line and have upgraded it to a reel called the Westminter series.
There's a few minor improvements but for $20 bucks, this is the deal of the month !
I'll be ordering several to put on the shelf !
thanks for the tip !

Does anybody know the difference in the size 25 and 40? What are the line capacities of each with say 8lb. test line?

BDH,
I'm pulling this from memory so I could be off a little.
25 8lb 85-95yards
40 8lb 150-160yards
I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm within 10 yards one way or the other.

The model 25 is the smallest in the series and the 40 the largest.
Both have 5.3:1 retrieve ratios.
I don't remember the actual weights of the reels but the 40 will handle most big game species. It's a bruiser while the 25 is a perfect match for a light, to medium light rod and 4 to 8 lb test line.
They also work great with 4 lb fireline.
The capacities are......................
Model 25....3/165...4/130...6/100
Model 40....8/190...12/135...17/90
Lots more if you use fireline !
I haven't found a reel with a better and tighter anti reverse yet ! Even in the more expensive models.

I checked the FRS radios and had to have someone pick me off the floor...The prices are TWICE what you can buy them from any reputable dealer...whos' kidding who? Check Ebay and you can probably get that radio for one-third.. Watch what you buy there.
I find Bass Pro to be much more competitive and I don't work for BPS.
