I recently read where it would be a good idea to install wave whackers for two reasons. One, to keep dry when back trolling, and two, as a safety measure when boating in high waves. What is the brand most often used and where do I order these. I would be installing on a Explorer 1800. Any info would be appreciated. I do not back troll, do I still need them?
I had Whitecaps on on my 1675 Explorer. You can find many threads here arguing which is better but I liked my Whitecaps and they were cheaper.

I have the Wave Wackers on my Lund. Ordered by phone, and received them almost before I mailed the check. Install was straight forward with clear instructions. They work and look great.

bill, to answer your last question,i'd say no, you do'nt needem. if your not backtrolling, i'd save the money, or it would be better spent on something else imo. mike
I have Whitecaps and really like them. Don't really know about the others, but the Whitecaps are nice.
I have them on a 1675 Explorer as well.
