I mounted my Garmin GPSMAP 76S on my Lund 1775 Pro V SE.Plug in the power cord to the 12v outlet and turn on the master power switch and then the on button, nothing happen.I then wiggle and press on the power cord and still nothing happen.I got my hand held spot light out and plug it in and it work.I then took the GPS unit and plug it in to my truck and it work fine.I then call my neighbor and he plug his Magellan in and again nothing. He then plug it into my truck and it work.

Any thoughts on what may be the problem ?

Just a thought though not directly related. The charger for my cell phone at work will only work in a power outlet and not a cigarette lighter outlet. The one we have at home will work in either receptacle. They don't look that different to my eye but there is obviously a difference in them. FWIW

The GPS units will not work if the + and - are reversed. The spot light will. Make sure the black wire is hooked to the body of the power outlet and the other wire (red or orange) is hooked to the center.

I suspect that you forgot to tell us that you installed a new 12VDC outlet on your boat. I also suspect that it is wired wrong, that the + and - leads are switched. Your light works because it is not polarity sensitive, the GPS's don't because they are. I would check that for sure. Ron

No I did not mount a new 12v outlet. This is a new boat.Must have come from the factory wire wrong.I'll talk to my dealer about it.Thanks for the info.

You can easily test the polarity with a voltmeter. Probably easier than towing it to the dealer.
