I have a friend that has a 1996 1750 Lund Tyee, There is a livewell on the port side in the rear of the boat that he uses for a baitwell only. He would like to find a way to put something in the livewell to take up about half the space, this would lessen the weight in his boat by not having 20-gal of water for a few minnows. What ever he would put in should be removeable for cleaning and he would like to fill the outside half of the livewell not the bottom half. Thanks if anyone has any ideas.

I know there are getting to be a lot of plastic fabricators around these days who are good with welding plastics (dump truck liners, tanks, etc.) Maybe they could weld in a leak-proof panel that divides tank in half? Or maybe your buddy could buy a do-it-yourself kit and practice on a non-critical area to get the technique down first? Benefit would be that he'd have storage for other bait in the dry area (nightcrawlers, etc.). It would still be wet storage for sure.

Just a thought.
