You will need a chevy truck to pull it that fast!!!!
HA HA!!!
I have a new Chevy truck and it sure can pull my boat fast! How do I get it to stop? I know which pedal is for the brakes but when I push it(with one foot)it slowly comes to a halt.Should I try both feet? Backing down a launch,it barely stops at all! My partner will, someday sink this truck, also. I'm sure glad I've got 4 wheel anti-lock disc brakes so I can run onto things without swerving.

I agree, the brakes are terrible in these new trucks!

Little secret for you towing a big boat GET BRAKES ON YOUR TRAILER.
Your brakes on any truck are not designed to stop more than the max gross weight listed in the manufactures specs.
I'm not saying that new truck brakes are the greatest but they do work better than any older vehicle. Most engineers do not over design anything which means that they will do fine with manufactures specs. If you want better brakes pay for the bigger calipers and rotors when purchasing or buy aftermarket they are available.
Don't be annonnamous on this board and trash any brands it is not acceptable.

The boat's an 18 footer and stopped fine behind a '94 F-150 for three years.I should upgrade my trailer 'cause Chevy's brake system is inferior to what Ford had ten years ago? Had the dealer allowed my to pull the rig before I bought the truck,I wouldn't have. However,I'm not saying the '04 F-150's brakes are any better. In my opinion, nothing about the new F-150 is any better.Maybe I should have bought a Nissan!

I just spent a week driving an 04 F150 and pulled a horse trailer for over 800 miles, I am very impressed with the truck! My 04 F350 came today and now that buddy is a truck!
