does anyone know of a site, other than the weather channel, that takes into account the predicted wind speed and direction?
I,ve had it with the weather channel's site with their annoying pop up ads that don't go away unless you exit the windows several times

Check out www.accuweather.com . It's a great site that provides far more information than The Weather Channel, including marine, winds and gust forecasts. I always check it out before hitting the water.

Enter your zip code and then click on 10 or 15 day forecast.

This is the Weather Channel but you can fine tune it to your area by entering your zipcode at the end of the site.
http://weather.com/weather/local/ then add your zip code to the end. Forecasts also.

Weatherunderground.com has been very accurate for me.

Ditto, on the accuweather site! My favorite info from this site is, checking out the past 24 hours. By doing this, you can see what the Barometer has been doing hour by hour. Great information to know! ;-) EE

I'm not sure how much info they give for inland lakes but for the Great Lakes I like www.noaa.com

I like the weather bug. www.weatherbug.com. It lets you keep the temp. right on your task bar, and when you click on it, it will pop up a window with all the information, along with the wind readings on a big compass. You can look at weather anywhere in the country just like the big sites. It has the forcast, radar, and it even chirps like a cricket when there are weather alerts that you need to be aware of in your area. It's pretty cool.

I usually don't use accuweather since I've noticed that their forecast isn't very accurate, much like The Weather Channel. I assumed the original post was looking for a wind forecast days in advance so I mentioned accuweather. I prefer Weatherunderground since this is verbatim to the National Weather Service.

Accuweather. Gets their info from the Weather channel which inturn, gets their info from the NWS. Nobody can predict the weather accurately, more than two days ahead anyways. So looking at the 5 or 10 day forecast from any weather station, is just a Fictional statement! :-) The reason I like the Accuweather site is because of it's coverage of barometric readings. (ME LIKES!) Good luck! and may the fish be with you! EE
