What is the best way the park your boat trailer, Rv or what ever you have for an extended amount of time. Or is todays tires built to sit without deteration.
I read somewhere a few years ago, not sure where, but it was a quote from an engineer at a tire company I think, and he said that the vehicle should be on jackstands with the tires deflated to half of max pressure. I've never stored anything long enough to worry about it, so I've never tried it, though.

Folks from Michelin told me to keep the tires off the cement (in this case it was for storing a 40' diesel pusher RV) and drive them onto wood (plywood). The cement interacts with the tire rubber and causes acelerated deterioration on the tire. Storing a boat outside I have also driven the trailer on to wood pads to keep the tires from sinking into the ground.

It's a good idea to cover the tires with either custom covers or larger, black garbage bags. The uv rays from the sun will cause the sidewalls to deteriorate.
Some people recommend placing jackstands or blocking the axles up to take weight off the tires, but I've never done it and have had no problems to date.

Tires are not the prime issue.Structural integrity will suffer to.Would you haul in aload of firewood on your truck and cover the tires for two weeks.I personally agree with stands under the FRAME then some tire deflation. But dont remove too much air.One may have to hitch up real quickly and pull the trailer out of harms way, jerking the stands over and splitting, quickly.
