150hp Evenrude oil leak.

Got the boat home tonight from Winnebago and noticed some oil leaking from under the lower schroud pan near the shifting rod. The oil was from there down to the skeg. this is a 1982 150hp unit without oil injection. I took some of the smaller plastic pieces off to see where it may be coming from. It looks like it is coming from just below the bottom 2 cylinders??? Upper part of lower unit??? hard to tell, any ideas fellas??? Thanks for any responses!!!

sounds like something i wouldn't mess with. stop at spellman's marina in oskosh there will take care of you and get you back on the water. tell them i sent you!!!

Sounds like the base gasket. This is the gasket between the powerhead and midsection. Big problem with those engines. This can cause exhaust to be sucked into carbs and cause lousey low speed
performance and plug fouling. GET IT FIXED!!!
