View Full Version : No Matter How Hard

No matter how much a dealer knows, no matter how much experience he has, no matter how much he cares, no matter how hard he tries, no matter how many check sheets get signed off, sometimes mistakes get made.
We all have seen the posts where somebody picked up their new rig and there were problems with it, that were not caught at the dealership during pre-delivery.
Because people are only human, we all have a serious brain fart now and then. Sometimes this mindlessness can actually kill you, like when driving an automobile. Unbelievable as it may seem, in the heat of the battle an experienced, highly rated, top notch technician can forget something as basic as oil.
Honestly, things like this do actually happen. Not often, but they do happen. It can happen in the most highly rated shops and offices in the world. Nobody intended for them to happen, safeguards were in place to see that they would not happen.
It happens in all businesses. It is hugely disappointing when it happens. It sucks! But, it does happen. None of us are perfect. We have made a few doozies at my place over the years. Hopefully, we never make them over again.

My point is: Let us not forget all of us are only imperfect humans.(especially on Easter). Enjoy this Easter weekend and hopefully you live where you can get out fishing. :)

T-mac I couldn't agree with you more. However in my world I do have a lot of tolerance for people's mistakes but when they happen I watch how someone behaves when they discover the mistake. Do they show accountability and ownership of the issue ( That is how I try to live my life and how I teach my kids to behave) or do they try to cover it up or push the responsibility on someone else. If I ever get mad it is because the person who created the problem isn't willing to own up to it and correct it.
That goes for boat dealerships too. I have a lot of tolerance for mistakes, spring back up in the repair shop etc. However if there is a mistake show me that you want to make it right.
I am sure you try to run your dealership that way I just wish more dealers were like that.
My experience is there is not enough competition on most brands so the dealers are not incented to worry much about customer service. If boat dealers were like car dealers (another dealer withing a 20 mile radius) dealers would have to focus more on customer service.
Just my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Mistakes do happen. it's how they are handled that seperate the winners from the losers.
want good service and support, go to the dealers that have been around for along time! they have either figured it out or are the only one's around for a long ways.
service, service, service
