    Be sure you are not over doing it with the retrieving. Leave her alone for 2 or 3 days. Just ignore her. Then bring out the dummy and make a big deal over her. Be sure to quit before she wants to quit. In other words, quit while she is still having fun. I wouldn't use live birds yet, but a wing might help her get a bit more interest. Get a good book on retrieving training. I used to use "Water Dog" by Richard Wolters. I'm sure there are better books out there now. If you really like training your Lab, contact a local retreiver club. They are a lot of fun and there are a lot of guys there that will give you a hand with the training. I have never had a gun shy dog. What I used to do was shoot a cap gun every time before I would feed them. It sure helps to have the pup identify that bang with something good. Be sure its not close to the dog when you start. Good luck and by the way, once you get her having fun and not refusing to retrieve, I think some live pigeons are a good start.
