If You Didn't Get A Fishing License During The State Shutdown What Would You Do!!!!

Today, on a radio talk show, out of Fargo, the announcer stated that if he had not gotten a fishing license before the Minnesota State shutdown he would go fishing anyway and buy the license when the shutdown was over. Stating the shutdown wasn't his problem. What do you think of a comment like that? A poor role model wouldn't you agree? Thanks in advance for not making this political. I know I would not go fishing and risk getting caught.

I'd go fly fishing in SD or MT instead of walleye/panfishing in MN. Mpls is about 500 miles east from my house. Bozeman, MT is about 500 miles west.

I'd still go fishing.

I find this kinda funny, how many of us wake up in the morning, and decide that "I'm gonna go fishin' today, better get a license"! This MN budget shut-down has been in the news for weeks, online is still available until midnight tonight, and people act like this is the end of the world.

I suggest he put a sign on the side of his boat, that says "no fishing license due to shut-down", and take his chances with Judge Judy.

I would imagine that if you were checked during this time and found to be wanting of a licence, the penalties would likely not be severe if at all.

Be safe

I'm going on my annual summer vacation to MN in the middle of July. I'll be happy to buy a license if they will sell me one. If not I'm going fishing anyway. I'm not letting politicians spoil my fun.

Not sure, but can't you get fishing license's online now?

Wonder if that will shut down too?

Online

I agree with AL W. I am betting all online services will be available as they are run independent from the State, since you can print it from the site, First Bank I believe handles the money for state. :horsepoop:

I always buy mine here. http://www.takemefishing.org/fishing/overview?gclid=CPrY_8PkzKgCFYjsKgodgEs7vQ if interested.

I have to side with whfishman. I have had enough with politicians myself. I am fishing regardless. As any American ages we should be flourishing in our investments and our ability to plan for the future. Unfortunately our country has not done the same. We as a country should be in great shape right now with all the baby boomers getting ready to retire. Just think of all the money these baby boomers have invested. What will happen to this country when investors are cut in half. I wish the younger generation well.

All in, all done, if you don't have it by shut down you won't. I guess I can't feel too bad about those who didn't. They had plenty of lead time for the shut down. Gambled and lost- - -jerr
