How to catch saugeye in southwest Indiana?
 

I know how to catch walleye in Northwest Ontario, but I am clueless here at home. There is a lake in my town that has had an extensive stocking of saugeye in the past and now they are stocking walleye. The lake is very stained and shallow. Weather has been very hot. Any suggestions on where to start looking for the fish?

Alot of the samethings that work in Ontario should work there. Fish relate to structure, baitfish, time of day ect. You'll need to do some trail and error or go to a local bait shop, they will know where to start.

Not exactly sure which lake you mean, but if it's in SW Indiana, it's probably a reservoir. Don't know of any natural lakes south of almost Ft. Wayne. You have to start learning reservoir habits and techniques. This starts with spinners on main lake points and cranks over the flats. Also, as suggested, check with local bait shops. They should know what's working. It takes a while to get used to it. I have been here a while and I still learn something new about reservoirs everytime I go out.

If you are talking about Lake Sullivan, then try fishing where the bridge crosses the lake.
