Humminbird 597CI HD DI
 

I have never owned or used a humminbird but I am thinking about getting a 597CI HD DI. It has some features that I would like to try out and it is in my price [ Cabela's points ] range. Any info Pro or Con about the 597Ci HD DI that any of you would share with me would be a great help. Thank You

Might want to check out this geat deal on a 587CI HD DI. I just ordered one last night. This was a special model made around the holidays. You will not find it on humminbirds web site.

Oops I just saw you have Cablea's points. Cabelas actually has this one in the flyer that came with my statement at $479 plus you get $47 back in Cabelas points plus there are $20 coupons out right now.

installing a new 597 CI HD DI on my boat today. I've never done it before but cant imagine it is too difficult

4.5" screen versus 5". Also, 640 x 640 pixels versus 640 x 480.

Thank you. Can any one tell me if I can run a HB and a LO at the same time with out interferance?

Any time you run sonar units that operate at the same frequency, regardless of the manufacturer, there will be some sonar cross-talk.

Will that make them unusable? Usually, the answer is no. it just makes the displays more cluttered, typically with a series of vertical lines.

You can generally minimize interference by separating the transducers by the largest distance possible (bow vs stern). Even then, however, once you get into deep enough water or have a good hard bottom beneath you, you'll see that cross-talk cropping up again.

I have the 587 HD and it is great unit, buying a chip for it this year.

What chip are you getting and where are you getting it from? I have one of these 597 HD DI and fish in several different states. I was hoping to not have to buy a different chip for each state.

Jason Thank you . I guess what I should have ask is if LOW and HB run at the same frequency?
