Run Flat Tires
Has anyone used run flat tires on their single axle trailer instead of traditional trailer tires? Seems like it would prevent damage to the trailer in case of a flat. Is this a good idea?

Yes, I think it would be a good idea. Do they make run flats for trailers? |

I can't find any run-flats in a typical trailer size, but I'd sure be willing to try these if they ever become commercially available.

Do they make run flats for trailers?[/QUOTE] I have run flats on my car, and those things ride much much harder than with regular tires. Plus there isn't much fix to the tire. With the limited suspension on most trailers, the higher cost both initially and if you puncture one, and it would be quicker to pull over and change your tire and be on your way than figure out how to repair (or buy a new run flat). I don't think I would do it. But I would be curious to see if anyone else is. |

But you would need a tire pressure monitor, because you sometimes can't tell if it's flat by looking at them. Nice if they made them for trailers.[/B] |
