Fatheads or Shiners

I am ordering a 5# box of minnows, should i get fatheads or shiners? I live in western NE, most of the bait shops have fatheads i think?

Shiners are typically a better minnow, but they are a lot harder to keep alive and typically a lot more expensive.

If you have a good set up and can keep them cool and oxygenated, I would probably go with shiners.

Native?

Are either of them native to the body of water that you'll be fishing? If so, I would say go with those.

I like shinners better, but they do die faster.

Outta curiosity what does a 5lb box cost? im assuming your talking live bait. and 5lbs = How many shiners? I been looking into purchasing some bulk shiners also.

bait

$90 delivered to your door for the #12 shiners or the large fatheads, I'm going to go with the fatheads
