1972 evinrude 6hp fisherman
 

my father in law has this model in excellent condition and I told him I would try and find an estimate on what its worth but am having problems finding any sources. any suggestions?

I would check Craigslist for comparisons. I bought my 1980 Evinrude 6hp long shaft for $380 back in 2001.

Good little motor. I sold one I inherited from a fishing buddy who passed away- around an '82 model if I recall, and it fetched $400. in 2015. Motor was in what I would term excellent condition.
