Who makes Coleman outboards and ATVs?

Coleman sure is branching out into new product categories. Last year it was the small outboards. This year I see in a Cabela's ad that they now have a line of ATV and UTVs out. I assume they are slapping their badge on another company's products. So anyone know?

Are Coleman boats coming next year?

Coleman

I believe Johnson Outdoors owns that company. The same company that owns Minn Kota, Humingbird, Cannon and the list goes on....

That's right, I do remember Costco selling the Coleman inflatable along with their 5HP outboard last year. So strange to see a Coleman aluminum. But I guess it must have been equally strange back in the day to see a Sears or Montgomery Wards aluminum boat too.

I just wonder for the outboards and the ATVs, where do you bring them in for service? That's why I wonder who actually makes them. Is the outboard just a rebadged Tohatsu? Are the ATVs a rebadged Kawasaki?

Coleman has them assembled in China by Hisun. Hisun is focused mainly on research and production of large displacement ATVs and UTVs, motorcycles, general gasoline powered engines and individual replacement parts. They have strict compliance with QMS standards, and have now gained worldwide certificates such as the CCC, COP and E3 certifications.

Many of their products are loosely based on Yamaha; ATV and UTV accessories made for Yamaha Rhinos and Grizzleys will retrofit to the Colemans, as well as a fair number of parts. Warranty on the ATVs and UTVs is 1 year limited, whereas Yamaha offers 6 months limited. There are 4000 service centers across the country. The Coleman ATVs and UTV also come standard with many of the features offered as options with the Yamahas. Winch, aluminum wheels, roof and windscreen are already included. Coleman will also reimburse the cost of an ATV rider course to all new purchasers of their ATVs.

Hope this helps.
