Thats an awesome unit !
Unbeatable price.

I was saving up for a Lowrance Elite-7ti. But then someone recommended this to me. Only thing it doesn't have is the touch screen. But that wasn't a deal breaker, especially at this price. What I really want to do is map my home lake with the Quickdraw contour mapping software. Oh, and the Side Vu will be awesome, too.

Cabelas and West Marine have that unit for $499.99 with Lake Vu. Prices change all the time, but if your happy with your unit enjoy.

Cabela's and West Marine $499.99 is for a non CHIRP unit
$649 for an EchoMap CHIRP 73sv is a very good deal IMO

I tried to price match BPS and Cabela's. But Cabela's said only if I bought it at the store and had receipt. They also had the non chirp units for $499. Chirp units were $749. So I think I did good. Also would have had to pay another $40-$50 in state tax.

yes you did good, my error, i compared all but didnt realize yours was chirp unit. Let me ask this, is chirp that good and worth the $250 more or higher

jbird68 03-06-2017 08:29 PM

I don't know. But I might as well get the latest tech. My Lowrance elite-5 does not have chirp and it works good. But it also doesn't have Downs can Imaging... Just sonar and GPS. The Lowrance is on the bow and connected to the transducer on my ipilot. The Garmin will go on the console. It won't work with the transducer built in to the trolling motor. Too old.

I bought a portable Lowrance Elite Chirp unit last summer for the fly-in trips.
I really like the CHIRP technology, difference in target separation compare to non CHIRP is like night & day IMO,
I will be replacing my Lowrance LCX27c with a Garmin EchoMap CHIRP 95sv this spring.
Our Canadian prices are outrageous compare to USA,
$1100 for a CHIRP 75
$1500 for a CHIRP 95
Exchange rate is around .74c to 1 USD
