Shimano Tekota's - 500lc?

Hey I'm looking at getting a trolling reel for lake erie walleye and was thinking the tekota 500lc. Hope to double as a muskie trolling reel occasionally too with different line.

Do you think the 500lc is big enough for these applications or should I consider the 600lc?

Thanks in advance...

IMO the 500lc's are bullet proof. I use one fo backtrolling divers and plugs for salmon. I guess it all depends on the size of line your going to be using. I run 300yds of 12/50 braid and the 500lc works flawless. Yes, I would buy another one and hope to do so soon. Well hope this helps. Tight Lines. Reginald:cheers:

The 500 is the one you want.

It looks to have the same drag as 600 so would imagine it would handle muskie and bigger braids?

A buddy of mine runs 500Lc for Lake Ontario Salmon, I use 600Lc just because I like to have a little more line capacity for those kings, both sizes are equally good,
Get the one which suites your line capacity, great reels !!

The 500 lc will be plenty for that.Very nice reel.

I've been using the Tekota 500LC's for a few seasons now and they are great. They are definitely up to the challenge.

The 500LC is plenty big IMHO, the 600 is a little too big for walleye.

You'll never regret buying a Tekota regardless of the size you choose, they're awesome reels.
